central locking question

Featured Replies

Hello, I'm hoping to tap into a rich seam of knowledge regarding the central locking on my 2010 Fabia estate.

As of this afternoon the drivers door will no longer lock when using the button on the key, I also appear to have lost my reversing sensors.

When I pulled up at home and put it in reverse I just got a continuous beep for a couple of seconds and then nowt, no image on the dance, nothing, thought that was a bit strange but never mind, got out, pressed the button and all the doors clicked except the drivers, I opened the door and the alarm sounded, so that part's working at least.

No matter how many presses of the button, or time left unlocked, will so far persuade the door to lock. So, have I pressed something I shouldn't have, is this a known issue that is easily sort-able?, or should I hot-foot it to my nearest dealership for professional help?.

Any possible solutions/experiences will be gratefully received and thanks for your time in reading my dilemma. Cheers Matt

Right.... bit of an update, scrub the stuff about the reversing sensor, the image of a car has reappeared on the stereo, which is nice.

Unfortunately the drivers door still won't lock on the remote, it will lock with the key though, thankfully!.

I've read a few older posts regarding a substandard drivers door loom, could this be the cause of my remote not operating correctly?, or should I be looking elsewhere for the issue?.

Cheers Matt

door loom might be your problem yeah. Its a common fault, so to speak.

Take a look, it usually goes near the hinge i think. Wires break up.
