Any students out there want to get me an iMac.

Featured Replies

Can anyone help me, looking at purchasing an iMac but understand students get a huge discount if they order it from a Uni address.

Really????? :rubchin: I want an IBook

I saw it when it started, was in two minds whether to wait until the New Year or not. I am after a 12" iBook as it is going to be a portable media machine.

Mac's Rule. :P

Refurb store it is then

Think I can get almost 100 quid off a Mac Mini through the Uni network.

Apple have 3 levels of student discount: standard, FE and HE.

If you order from the Apple Store from a University network you get the highest discount. If you say I'm a student they usually pawn you off with one of the lower discounts.

If you know what you want, I'll have a look on the store when I'm at work tomorrow and give you the price with the Full HE discount if you like? Then you can decide if it's worth it?

I would help... but im still only in college, sorry!

you only get 10% student discount, depends on how much you buy, you can go to the stores with NUS and get the discount, not just online

As I said, we bought a new Dual Processor G5 at the start of last year and the discount (on the Apple Store website as we ordered) was 30%. Granted we obviously spent a bit, but still, you never know until you check.

Bought a cable a few weeks ago and that was 15% off at work. Then I realised it was under the free delivery cost, so in the end I saved

Not only Apple stuff you get a huge discount on. Microsoft gove you fully legit Office Pro for £200 less than RRP. Think you get it for £89 instead of £289.

I am after a 12" ibook

1.33GHz PowerPC G4

512K L2 cache @1.33GHz

512MB memory (DDR333 SDRAM)

I will wait a while before getting a mac mini.

I got a 14" iBook G4 last year in the states, saved myself £100 i think.

Its cheaper to buy in the US and its a reason to go to vegas tbh. err well you save yourself £100 which you can spend £80 on the slot machine and still save £20, you cant afford not to!

Thanks Mort,
