Do any octavias come with a hu remote?

Featured Replies

As in the title, I am hopefully picking up a 4x4 octavia on wednesday and was wondering if there will be some soret of remote for the headunit, wither on the steering column or elsewhere?

Reason I ask is when I get round to it I will be mounting the hu in the glovebox and flucshing in my screen from my old car for the in car computer. So I will need to be able to do volume from a remote of some sort.

Also I dont want to hack up another ir remote to get the signal through the glovebox!

Many thanks

Henry

On the last of the old shape octavias they did do an optional multifunction steering wheel that had buttons for volume and track selection. They were very rare though and won't be cheap.

As the standard stereo is very poor anyway you might find it better and cheaper to get a replacement HU with a wired remote like the ones sony do.

I have alrady got an alpine hu for the car, which takes steering wheel inputs so was wondering if there were any to adapt!

Guess I will just have to do another one like this

A mate of mine has a Seat Ibiza with standard steering wheel controls and an Alpine headunit. He got the adaptor from caraudiodirect. Most things in the VAG empire are standard so there's a decent chance it will work.
