sub amp, aerial amp and HU acting strage

Featured Replies

Hi ! I'll ask you another electrical related question..or at least tell you my story. :) It's short, so don't worry :)

Problem details:

1. head unit (mp3 player)

2. aerial amplifier wannabe (connector from the car's aerial to the radio, which also has a 'remote' wire)

3. audio amplifier (which has a remote wire as well)

Situation:

If I join both remotes (from the aerial and audio amp) to the HU output, the last one will be always on for some reasons and WILL drain my battery. If I disconnect both of them (those are tapped so I only disconnected the 'main' one from the HU, the amp will work as it should be, only when the ignition switch is on.

TBH, I've never taken apart that aerial amplifier so I am not sure what exactly does, but with or without it, it's about the same thing. And second of all, why in the world the amp is turning off with the remote cable disconnected and always on with it connected to the HU ? Does it have anything to do with those red and yellow wires switched to keep the radio's memory alive when the ignition is off ? Have you ever encountered this problem ?

P.S.: I've just managed to figure this out, the remote is temporary disconnected and I really hope tomorrow morning my car WILL start. ^ ^
