Good Morning

Good Morning one and all!

Have just joined the forum as I am looking to buy an Octavia vRS Mk 1 to replace my current vehicle - a rather aged and long in the tooth Discovery TDi. Maybe it's the dreaded mid life crisis setting in (turned 41 this year) or maybe I am just after a bit more comfort and economy (and a bit of speed :) )

Either way, expect a few questions here and there, nothing too taxing though I hope (have been around forums since this internet became popular).

Previous steeds include;

1984 Audi 80 Sport (lovely car)

1984 Audi 80 Quattro (5 cyl version)

1991 SIerra Xr4x4i (should never have got rid of it)

2005 MG ZR Diesel

along with several other run of the mill things, and a couple of other Land Rovers.

They were immense fun. The Quattro sounded fantastic - love the 5 cyl warble. As for the XR, that had loads of work done to it, including a full engine rebuild (rings, bearings, valves and a port & polish of the head), stainless exhaust, polybushed, gas shocks, 2000e interior etc & all done by me :) ran beautifully, went like stink and stuck to the road like glue - damn, that's one car I miss.

Certainly rare now.  The Quattro would certainly be a collectors car if any were to be found.

As far as I know, it's still on the road - was last time I checked the MOT website anyway (working in "the trade" I remember reg numbers, quite sad really I can remember nearly all of my old cars)

Glad I'm not the only one then.  Everything thinks its crazy that I can remember reg numbers going back years and not just mine but family/friends' car too :nerd:
