Featured Replies

Hello All,

I bought the VRS Multi function Steering Wheel (MFSW)  the one that control the

DSG gear and the radio,

maxresdefault.jpg

I received with it Part number: 1K0953549CH  which should control it.

for some reason I can't connect it to the slip ring, I think it doesn't suitable for this VRS MFSW.

can anyone help me?

what parts should I buy? do I need to replace the slip ring with this Steering Wheel Slip Ring 1K0959653C ?

do I need the  cruise control stalk 1K0 953 513 G

I also saw something that i may need the 5Q0953549A   Multifunction Steering Wheel Controler for Octavia 3

or 5Q0907530AC Gateway Controler for Skoda Octavia 3

can someone tell me what parts (with part numbers) I need in order to make it work?

Thanks in advance

I can't really help, other than give you this link.www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/f149/how-mfsw-retrofit-2012-octavia-vrs-manual-82825.html

Also, check out my thread where I've been asking similar questions. It may help you too. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/390809-4-spoke-mfsw/

It is for a 2.0 TSI VRS however.  Have you got a VCDS scan listing the parts that are already fitted to your car? Has it been coded properly with VCDS?

May I ask where you got the wheel? I'm desperate to source one.

I can use vcds to scan it, but i can try to scan it tomorrow.

a friend gave me the wheel, I can ask him where he got it

For free?! You jammy git! :D  Please do, I really want MFSW but I'd like to keep the standard VRs 3 spoke.

There is certainly no need for any O3 parts.

There are two very different steering controllers used in the O2 which are very different and not compatible with each other. Your car probably has the later version which is why the older style 1K0 953 549 CH doesn't fit.

Best plan is an autoscan to show what you currently have and then we can suggest the right module for your car :)

You have the newer style, instead of it just being a control module, it will probably have the stalks attached and you'll swap the entire lot over.

I have the following fitted which supports a MFSW, cruise control and is without buttons for the MFD (not needed with a MFSW).

Address 16: Steering wheel (J527)       Labels: 5K0-953-569.clb
   Part No SW: 5K0 953 521 BN    HW: 5K0 953 569 E

Rosstech also list some other compatible modules at the bottom of this page: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Steering_Wheel_Control_Module_Versions

Just make sure that both the module and stalks are correct for you car as they come with/without buttons for the MFD and cruise control.

but I don't understand ,

i have this:

Part No SW: 5K0 953 521 AN HW: 5K0 953 569

so what Steering Wheel Slip Ring will fit to it? can you write me the part number?

and does the control module 1K0953549CH   will fit?

how can I make it work?

Thanks

Shlomi

Octavia 2 Facelift used 3 different types of slip ring and control module

2009 - Early 2010 would use the 1K0 953 549CH type of controller and a C version slip ring

Mid 2010 - 2013 would use a 5K0 module which has the slip ring built in

There were 2 versions of the 5K0 module / slip ring.

5K0 953 549 Version made by Kostal

5K0 953 569 Version made by Valeo

Your best option is to find a 5K0 953 569H or L or AL

don't buy any 569 type that is for the passat
