99 problems (nearly):Heater motor, heated sts, window speakers, partial electric window and air circ

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I brought my Skoda Fabia 1.4 elegance when I first got to NZ last April. I've fixed a few problems but many have come to light and I wonder if any can be connected?

1. The hot/cold dial is very slow to respond. I read this is common and the problem could be the settings need to be reset or the v68 flap motor needs changing.

2. Both heated seats at the same time (or massive coincidence) have started being quite unreliable. They might go hot, then off, then hot again, all without changing the dial from 1-5. I haven't used them over the summer and now with winter coming this has cropped up!

2.1. Forgot that the air circulation button has a mind of its own, when pressed the light might stay on for a while, then go off, come back on etc... I think it is effecting the operation too, not just the button

3. The two front tweeters near the glass have both started to crackle a bit, again at the same time! It sounds like they can't handle the bass but I have turned the bass down to minimum and it still occurs. I don't play the radio loud at all

4. The front drivers electric window started being unreliable when you push the button half way down, now it only works full way down and I have to catch it in position with the 'up' motion.

5. The front suspension is very squeaky when going over bumps. I suspect this is the anti roll bars or front bushes but the front bushes were only changed 30,000km ago

6. There is a knocking under the car, like something is dangling underneath and gets a good shake on when the road is uneven? Could be exhaust clips?

As you can imagine I don't want to go to the stealership or garage for these as it'll end up costing more than what I paid for the car! Lets just say the guy sold it to me at the right time when all of these were working fine!

If you think any of these issues are related or my diagnostics are inaccurate then please let me know
