2010 Octavia VRS Engine airflow problem

Featured Replies

Hi all, long time lurker but I can't quite find an answer to my problem with the search hence the post!

My Octavia is behaving a bit weirdly currently.

In chronological order:

Lambda sensor warning light on dash intermittantly came on and off

Engine 'lumpy' on idle with extra random vibrations almost like a misfire

Through the rev range @ low RPM car feels a bit un responsive at higher RPM it's fine

EPC and lambda sensor warning light came on on dash

Ran diagnostics and got the following fault codes:

04874 - Can't find out what this means anyone know?

08213 - intake manifold flap position sensor

00769 - coolant temp sensor engine outlet

I'm not quite sure how to solve it, has anyone had similar issues and how did you sort them?

Iain

Something like this?

004874 - Cylinder Disabling
P130A - 000 - - - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00100000
Fault Priority: 0
Fault Frequency: 1
Mileage: 32377 km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2000.00.00
Time: 04:25:26

After a little search it seems to point to a coilpack(s) being faulty. Seems to be quite common on VAG TFSI engines? http://www.golfmk6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55549

Yes that would make a lot of sense, I had it in mind that the coil pack was likley to be an issue.

My train of thought at the minute is that I have the 3 commonish problems and I probably should:

Replace inlet manifold

Replace coilpack

Replace coolant temp sensor

Inlet manifold is expensive mind!
