08reg Superb Wipers inop

Featured Replies

Hi

I am trying to help my mate sort the wipers out on his car. it is an 08reg Superb & the wipers have gone off. I am a bus mechanic so know alittle about electrics but this has got me stumped.

The problem occurred when they stuck to the screen after a frost.

I have a program on my computer which says fuse 19 in the Engine Compartment  fusebox is for the wipers. we've had just about every piece of plastic under the bonnet off to find the fusebox but still can't find it.

The fusebox on the end of the dashboard seems to check out ok, no blown fuses, checked visually & with a continuity test using a multimeter.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Hi

The battery on this car is under the windscreen. We've had the plastic cover off which goes the full width of the car. I'm rhinking is it an earlier car, although its an 08 reg I don't know what year the models changed.

The model changeover year for the Superb 1 to the Superb 2 was 2008.

From where you found the battery, I'd be pretty definite that you are looking st a superb Mark 1, not the Mark 2 for this forum. Also, the location you found the battery is exactly the same as my fathers 05 Passat and that's the car the Superb I was based on.

On his car, you removed a a  drivers side lower dash panel and there were a few more fuses there.

Superb 1 forum is here (I'm sure there is info there for you): http://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/29-skoda-superb-i/
