New from Ireland

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, Niall is the name, new skoda owner here from Ireland.

Have to commend everyone on such a great forum, since I got the car a few weeks back the forum has been a goldmine of information for me.

My car history is SiR civic, Type R civic with b18c engine, "kids started arriving", TDi Passat 130bhp, mondeo estate, now a skoda MK1 VRS for myself as a weekend car.

I'm not a huge poster really but felt the need to join to thank everyone for all the info on the forum :)

My cars standard bar pipercross filter that I noticed was a recommended route by people here and a forge 008 dv.

Slowly getting through all the bits I need do, throttle body was cleaned yesterday, maf will get cleaned today.

Car has 160k miles, did timing belt straight away, 4 new michelans, new valve cover gasket seal and 4 new coils.

Car pulls really well and feels like it hasn't lost many horses over all the years :)

Hi Niall, welcome! Whereabouts are you based? Sounds like that VRS will be well looked after!

Live in the "sunny" (apparently) South East :D

Changed out rear speakers as well now that I remember, reason being I have my seat back fairly far, 6'8" means I have to.... Wasn't a fan of the tweeter position in my ear so put coxials in the rear instead.

New components for front arrived this morning too.

Well we can't complain about it the last few days here in the South East [emoji3]. At 6'8" you should look at a Superb next time. Would make long journeys a lot more comfortable!

Superb was too expensive and wanted the petrol engine, kinda a mid life crisis car as the wife calls it :D

Superb estate would have been my number 1 choice as the family car but again couldn't afford one so got herself a mondeo estate instead.
