1.9 PD130 tuning - jabba etc

Featured Replies

hi all,

got a 1.9 PD130 superb on the way and i'm looking at a remap. jabba's the obvious choice, but they now have a "load and go" option that's a bit cheaper than a custom remap. am only planning on a new filter and a remap - is the load and go any good, or am i better off going for the custom remap?

cheers

custom will always be better for your particular car and any quirks it may have. :) Oh, and if going down the custom route do any mods before you go. Otherwise don't worry if you go for the generic affair.

get the custom one and stop being cheap!

Aye, go with the custom.......

should get you some healthy figures.....crica 160-170bhp and more torque than you can shake a stick at.

I have heard the AMD one click works well

fair enough!

now, anyone know anything about induction mods for the superb? got a green cotton filter on the way but would like to make it as free flowing as possible before a remap...

you mean something like a K&N 57i kit?

From discussions on another VAG-related board, in the case of the PD130 it's a bit of a wasted effort as the location of the airbox (and where the 57i would be) is so close to the turbo anyway, you;d just be sucking warm/hot air back in.....if you look closely at the existing airbox, you should have a massive heat shield down one side, and as it stands now, air is pulled from an intake just by the leading edge of the bonnet (or it is in my Passat, which is same engine layout)

Course, I could be wrong........

I think that your spot on there mate, I have been reading that putting an induction kit on the 130 makes it worse.

The panel filter is the only thing worth doing, I hear.

How much was the Green Panel Filter landwomble?

48 quid-ish from needforspeed, but 2 week wait .

i don't like induction kits like the 57i due to heatsoak in the engine bay, but wondered if anyone had tried any bits off other VAG engines to duct more cold air to the existing airbox. if not, guess i'll open it up, trim off any excess plastic in the box/remove any resonators and maybe add some kitchen extractor fan hose...it'd be nice if there was, say, an audi rs4 part that bolted straight on to do this though!

Jabbasport are brill,( and really nice people too ) they did my petrol turbo on lpg nearly 2 y ago and it was great b 4 i smashed it up this week ???? , get the custom as each car is slightly different and need it to nget the best set up for YOUR car

Get your Green Panel Filter from JBS. They are cheaper than Needforspeed, and we get a Briskoda discount as well.

Hi

Yes we do the Green Cotton Air Filters.

I have them on order at the moment for the Superb.

It is worth calling in to see us and have a look at our rolling road printouts.

We have quite a few and the PD130 engine is great.

It remaps well and can improve the fuel consumption.

www.custom-code.co.uk is the web site.

If I can help you further please feel free to get in touch.

01246 455004 is Custom-Codes telephone number

Thank you

Sarah
