Turbo boost loss after cam chain snapped

Featured Replies

Hi I have the 2.0tfsi vrs. Recently I have had the timing belt and water pump replaced and the cam chain and tensioner done as well as the cam chain failed. Everything was running smoothly before the chain failed. But now I have minimal boost from around 4000 rpm. I have replaced the diverter valve to see if it was this but still no change. Their isn't any rattles from the engine. I'm finding that it just won't boost properly. Any help please

have you done a compression test to make sure no damage was done to the engine? Have you made sure they have plugged all the sensors and MAF back in after working on it.

Havnt done the compression test. Is their a measurement I should look for when doing it. A part from this everything else has been checked

150 is a little on the lower side. Was that wet or dry results?

Not sure I just screwed in the compression tester turn over the key with my foot to the floor. And it read 150 psi.

Just put the boost valve on and it's made no difference

Checked all of the vacuum pipes and their all fine. The waste gate seems to be intermittent as if its struggling to open almost like its pulsing

I see you're in Newcastle.  If you don't have VCDS and want to check for codes, give me a shout.
