Just received my 315 dab , but shroud missing

Featured Replies

Just received an RNS 315 from eBay and the black plastic shroud that goes around the dab plug on the back of the stereo is missing , will this effect how the aerial locks into the back of the stereo? Not impressed as he didn't state that this was missing .

Not sure how to add a pic from my iPhone ?

It will be fine, what to do is connect it up and get a DAB station playing and then push the unit in slowly as it can come out of place

Yeah. nothing to worry about. I have the reverse....the cable has no locking plug on it, but is a very very nice tight snug fit. If you are worried, a bit of Duck-tape will hold it in place. :)

And if the unit wasn't the sellers from new, maybe it was missing before he got it.

Great stuff, I contacted the guy and he 'fessed up' that the black plastic broke off when he was removing the aerial! Just would have been nice if he had mentioned that in the ebay ad!I

I was starting to have doubts about installing this, but guess I will still perservere! Got the gateway in the post, got a GPS aerial already and need to get a DAB aerial and Bluetooth lead and mic.

When the headunit is out, pop the side off the trim by the passenger door. Use something long and straight to feed the cable to the cage for the headunit.

if you have curtain airbags the pillar trim needs to have the screw removed from behind the "Airbag" tag (Torx 20, like the headunit), then it just pops off. Getting the screw back in can be tricky because of the angle. A dab of PrittStick on the screwhead helps ;)

Non-airbag trim just pops off.

(Am looking for the mic, unfortunately someone "tidied up"  little while ago.)
