Yes theyre plug and play with a few vcds adaptions to make some things work if you've got Maxidot.

Is it worth it? Thats down to you. I found the Columbus i had slow with crap sound, but others seem to rave about them. Not sure why :D.

I went aftermarket and got a much better unit.

I've got the Amundsen+ unit. Fantastic bit of kit. I bought it off eBay last year. Very happy with it. Looks great and works very well. Less than ten minutes to fit.

Yea I've also heard that, about the crap sound mate with the Columbus. I'm sure I've read it's because it's designed for the Octavia/superb. Different set up maybe.

Admundsen is bang on. I did have to do a bit of tweaking in the settings though.

Its odd because they all apparently use the same sound processors, yet the swing sounded loads better than the Columbus.

Aftermarket Zenec with Audison Prima speakers in now though. Sounds brilliant!

But i could be wrong?

I think bluetooth is still optional on the +, not guaranteed. One advantage of the + is that the maps are stored internally and not on a memory card, so that the memory card slot is freed up for use.

There is an option in VCDS to change the sound setup/accoustics, I can't remember the option name now. I've just installed a Bolero in SWMBO's Fabia and went into the Radio coding, and there's an option to change the setup according to the Model - obviously supplied setup to the Superb, but in the drop down list there were the other models, set to Fabia and sounds easily as good as the Swing - but looks better IMO. :D

Yeah i went through all of that mate. Ive got VCDS myself, so i tried everything :D.

All the 'no sound system installed' n all that stuff. Spent hours playing with it, before i got fed up n bought the Zenec instead.

Bolero perhaps sounds better than the Columbus then.
