columbus is poorly sick

Featured Replies

Hi folks

Hoping to get some info

my cars been stood unexpectedly  for a while due to a recent operation  .Anyhow when i fitted a new battery and cleared all the faults on the car with vdcs (due to been cranked over with no power mi thinks )  all faults cleared except all relating to columbus i.e nav radio telephone and gateway error relating to the radio.

The columbus itself is making a clicking noise when i get in either with ignition on or off and does nothing, the screen just stays blank.

I had this before when the battery went flat previously so i just took off the battery lead for 30 mins and it sorted itself out but unfortunalty this time its not working. All the usual fuses including the one at the back of the unit checked

i have a firmware cd i updated to a few years back to try reload the firmware but its got a midget porno in the drive which would be rather embarrassing at any forthcoming repair shop..

can anybody suggest a plan of troubleshooting or a repairer ? many thanks
