Dump valve/waste gate / flutter

Featured Replies

Hi everyone I'm new to this a complete novice. I own a octavia mrk1 vrs 180bhp now this may sound stupid but I love the sound of the dump valve if that's what it is it makes the tssshhh noise lol now heard some that are loud on a mrk1 iv even heard some that make a flutter noise my question is how do I make it louder or how do I get it to flutter and what would I need with out losing any power? It's is standard vrs it has not been mapped how ever I am looking to have a stage1 remap in the future. Hope anyone can help many thanks

Aftermarket DV, e.g Forge, and replace the air filter box with a cone filter. Also fitting a silicone turbo intake pipe will help resonate the sound you are after.

Would fitting a cold air intake be better than

Than just a cone filter??

I have a Forge splitter DV on my VRS, sounds great not stupid loud. There is mixed reviews on fitting these to our cars but I have had no issues with mine after setting it up correctly.

A CAI is better than just a cone filter as your relocating where the engine is sucking up the air from(cooler location, usually just behind the passenger side bumper vent). The only thing you have to watch is deep puddles as there is the risk of sucking up water from what I have been told.
