Skoda Online Service Records

Featured Replies

In this age of electronic records and no service books, how do you actually obtain information about a vehicle's service history?

Is it a case of ringing Skoda Customer Services? And how does it work if you're not yet the owner/registered keeper of that vehicle? Can you obtain the info.

Not sure this is progress really! A physical record was really quite handy....

Cheers,
Steve

I believe that's the only way now. And I agree with you 100%

Thanks. For my own car, to not even get a printout or confirmation when you pick the car up from service is just daft.

I wouldn't know, never have and never would go to a dealers to get mine serviced, there's so much stuff listed that's a "Maybe" like check air filter and replace if necessary sort of thing, what? I pay the same for you to not change anything? At least where I send mine I know they change everything and do all work asked. And give me a itemized receipt and use genuine parts so the warranty is kept.

You can request a copy. After approximately 2 years of ownership I asked why I didn't receive a printout of the work carried out anymore, and was informed that it is all electronic, but I could have a copy if I wished, and I now get a printout after every service.

Amazing how some makers have been just that little bit in front for a good while. Over eight years ago, I picked up a new to us vehicle from our lease depot. Ford transit, of 06 vintage. first service, not knowing anything of it's history, I took it in to our trusted main dealer for a service and had a chat with the service manager. No problem- he could trace the vehicle history from new, even though it had not been within two hundred miles of his place till that date. Later that week, I wondered about some item on my own car ( at the time, Astra) and asked at local Vauxhall dealer- they could tell me when it had been registered /put on road etc, but no history.

Furby has only seen stealer for cambelt change . All other servicing has been at local indie. I did call in to dealer for a short piece of flexible pipe when I had a small fuel leak. "Sorry sir, we only sell and fit a complete kit. Price =£160 FOR KIT,THEN ADD IN ANOTHER TWO HOURS LABOUR, total circa £320". Quick visit to TPS produced 6" length of flexi pipe ( flexible fuel pipe cut to length) , cost £0.5 .

Toyota are very good with this.

I have a service book and its also online which I can access through the My Toyota App or online, it also links in with Recall notices/Warranty claims on the vehicle.  You can also use it for MOT/Service/Breakdown cover reminders, booking a service/MOT & adding extra work during the service, you can also add more than 1 vehicle to your account (which comes in handy for us as we have 2 Toyota's).

You also get the full tech/build spec for your vehicle too (similar to Fords Etis system)

Skoda seem so far behind the times with this sort of thing

Just wondering 3 years on if this is the case, just got a used car and was told there is no service book at the main dealer and that it is all online ... can't find anything.  So if you own the car is there a way to see the service history ?

There is and someone will explain what you need.

For me i just ask Skoda UK Customer Services to send the Service, Warranty Work and Service Campaign that they have on their records.

Or get a main dealership service desk member of staff to print it out.  I know a PITA for them, but that the price they have to pay for Service Books no longer being supplied with cars.
