Superb Mk11 - Key Remote synch

Featured Replies

Sorry to have to ask. I've done loads of searches but I can't find a thing. I've just replaced the battery in my remote and it now won't lock / unlock the doors etc.

I've done a youtube search but all of these mention placing the key that needs coding in the drivers door lock. My 2009 model doesn't have any exterior key holes / door locks.

I'm sure it's very simple but everything I've tried hasn't worked and I'm getting miffed off now....

Can anyone help please?

Thanks

I haven't had to sync a key yet.. but the manual says the drivers lock barrel is behind the cover at the rear of the door handle - see the image from the manual below.

Hope it helps (I'm assuming that the handle on a 2009 wont have changed much from a 2014)...

I think you'll find that the driver's door lock is concealed beneath the cover at the base of the handle. You use the key blade to prise the cover off (look on the underside to the cover for a small slot). The alarm will probably go off but should stop when the key is put in the ignition. BTW - I recently changed the battery in my keyfob without any such problems.

All the best

No worries!  When I saw the question - I realised I hadn't a clue what to do if the car battery died and i needed to get into it. My speedy reply was simply fueled by my ignorance  ;)

Guys, I can't thank you enough... All sorted now! :D

drefaldwyn, I have also previously changed the battery in the other fob last year and had no issues at all everything worked as before. Not sure why it had to be synched this time  but thanks to you guys I'm sorted again.

By the way, I've got to say that after nearly 4 years of ownership this car has been bloody fantastic. Has never missed a beat and is as good if not better than the A6 I had before. Stonking bit of kit.

Next one will be the estate me thinks..

Thank again.
