Skoda Symphony Radio/CD Player intermittent reception

Featured Replies

Having had an issue with my stereo whereupon after playing for a while it would fail to receive radio signal and all reception would be lost yet CD still worked fine!

I had imagined it was a fault with the aerial but as I was lost in purchasing a new steering pump at the right price before I put my car on the road my issues with the stereo took a back seat.

Stripped my car and awaited delivery of pump... 6 weeks later pump arrived and was duly fitted which restored my steering to effortless manoeuvrability!

Radio lost code and no record of it in handbook or elsewhere...

Forgive me if I'm wrong but they don't need a radio code. They are programmed to the car and auto code back in when power is connected. If you were to take the radio out and put it in another Škoda then it would not code in because it doesn't recognise the car. Looks like you will need to get a dealer to code it back again. As for the signal issues I have found that the ariel bases on the Fabia are a weak spot. They suffer water ingress and cause the radio signal issues. I had this on two Fabias.
