What can be Retro fitted from the options list if looking at used cars?

Featured Replies

Is there a definitive list anywhere that advises what can be retro fitted to the superb III with vcds if looking at a 2nd hand vehicle with some options missing?

SE L or L&K model does this matter?

I.e:  paddle shifts I read can be done with purchasing a new steering wheel and vcds coding.

So can any of the list below added or any others be retro fitted? (without or very little cost)

Traffic sign recognition

Media command

Smartgate

Phone box

Rear view camera

Park assist

Lane assist

Smart light assist

virtual pedal

Beam assist

SE L or L&K model does this matter? No but you will need the camera in the windscreen (std fit on the L&K) to activate some things

Traffic sign recognition Yes - requires camera

Media command ? I imagine will need hardware and coding

Smartgate ? I imagine will need hardware and coding

Phone box Will need hardware

Rear view camera Will need hardware and coding

Park assist Will need hardware and coding

Lane assist Yes but again requires camera

Smart light assist No, the lights are different

virtual pedal Will require hardware and coding

Beam assist Yes may need camera?

If most of the above are important to you then I would look only at an L&K, where most of the above is std.

And as well as parts and coding, add a significant drain on your Bank unless you can find the parts very cheap.

I'm finding it increasingly difficult to get vcds to make any changes to anything built 2016 onwards.

Everything seems to require background coding and parameterisation via ODIS and the changes just will not stick with vcds.

VAG getting wise to us freeloading VCDS users, but not directly mind, just making life that wee bit harder on each model release!

Found a specialist in Dunstable who I'll get to have a play and see if we can't finally conquer it. My cousin who has Skoda experience is convinced it will code.  ***UPDATE-07/12/16*** Switched from Octavia 3 buttons to Superb 3 buttons (with paddle shift ports-part no, 3V0 919 719B) and paddles now work. No coding required. Octavia 3 buttons are not compatible.
