Featured Replies

hello,

I'm considering buying this http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Quad-Core-1024-600-Pure-Android-Car-DVD-For-Volkswagen-Bora-Passat-Seat-Skoda-GPS-Navigation/32573831380.html?spm=2114.10010108.1000014.4.sz9Lyu&scm=1007.13338.39535.0&pvid=77de6739-065c-4676-8257-b731b98f7eed&tpp=1

My car is exactly like this http://www.car-dvd-gps.net/images/mce_upload/Skoda-Octavia_2005_1600x1200_wallpaper_1f.jpg

Do you know if it will fit my fascia? Maybe i can modify fascia myself?

Please suggest alternative headunits. I would prefer android 1024 and 8inch display, fast working (quad core)

Thank you

I was looking at the same head unit, and also have a stream with climatronic. From what I understand the fascia's we have will not fit and will have to source a fascia for the Columbus unit.

Suppose it's possible. I might consider introducing it to the dremel.

Columbus fascia is wider at the edges so it needs more width not less.

columbus fits perfectly with my fascia

By fascia I mean the trim that surrounds the unit. The unit fits in the dashboard no problem but the fascia piece is a different size.

well, i thought out my options and budget. And i'm going for a tablet pc, and a dash mount :D this tablet is great http://www.gearbest.com/tablet-pcs/pp_343663.html

good solid in CD dash is about 20 $, and i won't have to be afraid of thieves (i will be taking the tablet with me always, because i always carry a backpack)

This tablet has better screen res, windows 10 (better navigation software), better games because of not bad processor (omg i love games , ps1, ps2, psp emulators, some pc games on low res), and i can enable internet from phone via USB tethering. And it will only cost me ~100 USD :D

i'm going for something like this https://i.ytimg.com/vi/ghWvN2u5h3g/maxresdefault.jpg. I'm thinking about intergrating some comfortable controls via bluetooth keys, or keyboard. (maybe on the wheel, i don't know)
