wheel fouling arch

Featured Replies

Hi, I bought a 11 plate superb estate last month, when I got it they fitted 4 new tyres and also done the tracking,  but I have noticed that when I reverse and have the wheel turned hard right It  is rubbing against the  wheel arch guard.  but when I ease it off just a bit it is fine,

anyone else had this with this car, it has the correct tyres on 225/40/18

Thanks

That sounds like it could be a bent rack stop, or a wrong offset on the RHF wheel. The size should be cast into the wheel, and look something like "8Jx18ET42". The "ET99" bit is the offset, and if the offset on the RHF is wrong the ET number on it will be less than on the other 3 road wheels.

Check that the arch liner is correctly secured too. If it's hanging any bit loose it could foul on the wheel.

If the arch has been off at any time you can almost guarantee it hasn't been put back on properly
