Eagle F1's fitted to vRS

Featured Replies

Took delivery of some Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 this week and had them fitted today. Very impressed with them indeed! Used the opportunity to upgrade from 205s to 215/40 17.

Vastly quieter than the Conti's. Car seems quite refined now lol. Ride comfort has taken a big boost too, surprising what a tiny bit of extra sidewall can do! Haven't really tested the handling yet as they've only got a few miles on them but flung it hard round a roundabout a couple of times and they were gripping very hard indeed. The sticky rubber tends to throw a few stones into the arches around where I live tho :-)

I literally did the exact same thing on my car. Went for these tyres and at the same time changed from 205/40/17 Hankooks which had been very very good, to the Eagles in 215/40/17's. I literally had stones stuck to the tyres when they first went on.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for them? As they're a new tyre I found they weren't cheap but think I got them for quite a good price still anyway.

I've done about 4000 miles on them now and think they're great. Waiting to see how the perform in the winter and how long they last for. The Hankooks I had on previously did me for a good 35,000 miles+

They were £90 each from Camskill and then £10 per tyre to fit inc valve/balance etc. Quite happy with that :-)

How the heck did you get 35k out of those hankooks lol.

The Conti's I had in before lasted 24k on the rear and 12k per front pair. Although to be fair that does include a fair bit of track driving.

Ah ok, I think I got mine for £420 from mytyres all in, fitting balancing etc.

The Hankooks were great, honestly. I had Pirelli's that came on the car from the factory which lasted about 20k and were rubbish, so I got the Hankooks (Ventus V12 Evo which have been replaced by the Evo 2's now) and they lasted from around 20k to 58k. I swapped the fronts and backs around when the fronts were about half worn but other than that? Try to avoid braking when I can and just rolling to a stop sometimes, but they certainly had a fair amount of punishment too. They were all on about 2mm when I had them changed though.

Anyway, enjoy the tyres! I'm finding them quiet, economical and a bit more forgiving over holes than any other tyre I've had.
