Vibrating doors

Featured Replies

well, I got round to putting my decent headunit into my fab vRS. as a result of more bass being sent in the direction of the speakers, the doors now vibrate like a goodun!

anyone know what causes the vibration and how i can stop it. in the long term my sub will be going into the boot which will drown out anything :) , but that won't be for a while

just general loose junk in the door - might be worth considering putting some sound proof material in the door, which will help with the vibrations etc.

Both my front doors used to rattle and ping like good'uns. I tried a few things to sort the problem, but in the end just removed the torq screws from the bottom of the door panel, pulled the bottom of the door panel away from the door, and shoved lots of newspaper up into the gap. It was only intended to be a temporary fix, bit it seems to have done the trick OK, so I've never bothered with anything more professional...

Thanks guys

does anyone have a step by step guide to removing the door panels?

Here's as good a guide as any. One slight inaccuracy is that there are FOUR torx screws along the bottom of the door panels, and not three like it says...

thanks for that mate

Resonant frequencies cause the rattles.

Good luck sound proofing it :)
