Question about 1.2 tsi 105hp

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

To start with I live in Poland and just about to finalize purchase of a 1.2 tsi 105 hp Octavia hatchback with 59000 km on clock, which was serviced all the time in skoda (last servicing 2 months ago)

I was checking before reliability of these cars, however, yesterday I found out this issue about cam chains with 1.2 tsi engines and got stressed about that.

What I saw here and in different forums this was mostly effecting cars build before mid 2011 and then they changed the faulty belts but still I have doubts in my mind. The car has model from 2012 however, it was produced in november 2011 with engine code CBZB

Can I ask your comments on this, would that be effecting my car? Anybody had any trouble with that cam?

Thanks a lot

Manny
