Oil pressure warning 1.6 TDI 2010,too many answers

Featured Replies

Hi all, help please

I am getting an intermittent oil pressure warning several times in the past two weeks. I have read several forums and there seems to be lots of problems but just as many answers. If this is such a common problem maybe someone can narrow down the cause.

Have had car with my mechanic, pressure checked out, pump working, sump removed and pick up cleaned"very little gunk".

Does anyone have any suggestions, this is driving me crazy. 150 k miles.

Thanks Bernard

Doesnt that suggest oil pressure switch/sensor or related wiring?

Thanks can, just got one today,i will let u know how I get on,. Ben

Agreed, and if it's totally intermittent I'd suspect the wiring. If it comes and goes in a pattern related to your driving and the oil temperature then I'd suspect the sensor.

Fitted new sensor on Mon 12th,done 150 miles since, fingers crossed, so far so Good !,if I get more than 3 days without warnings I'd be quiet confident that was the issue, watch this space I'll let you know either way, thanks for your replies. Bernard.
