Howdy...

Featured Replies

Hi all, just bought a Skoda Superb 2.0 TDI (Mk1), which will hopefully last me a few years until I upgrade (Probably another Skoda as I really like the car). I've been picking up a few tips on here so I thought it was time to join. I know all about the "reputation" the 2.0 TDI has but I didn't pay a fortune for it and it's in very good nick with a decent history and it's running very well for now, so fingers crossed. It does have the front courtesy light faulty/wiring loom issue (no damp found yet) and parking sensors faulty but other than that everything works as it should. I've successfully cracked the plastic under the wipers changing the battery but I'll post elsewhere about that. All in all, apart from those things it's a very tidy car but we'll see :-)

Hiya Tony, welcome along.

Hello Tony  :hi:

Go easy when replacing that trim piece.  It's delicate at the best of times - I managed to crack a new one when fitting it :wall:

Hi Tony, welcom slog to the forum. Hope you get plenty of trouble-free motoring with the Superb. Sounds like you got yourself s decent enough example

Hi Gaz, I noticed lol, I just ordered a new one (not so easy to find) so I'll be doubly careful when fitting it.

Hi Freedom, it's solid all over, engine seems to be running well, economy is good, a very clean example that's done 126,000 miles, so fingers crossed that any oil pump issues have been dealt with in the past. I look after my cars so if I get two to three years trouble free motoring I'll be happy (Hopefully more). The wiring loom and pollen filter gasket I can do myself so that's no biggie for me. I've seen some higher mileage examples of the 2.0 TDI and I only do around 10,000 miles a year so fingers crossed!
