Powering Bolero on garage desk

Featured Replies

I need to test my Bolero on garage desk with lab power supply but seams that it need some other wires connected also beside 15 (12V) & 12 (GND) on below chart. I have done that with Columbus some year ago but can't remember how and can't find that info on net either. Any help here?

3. Multi-pin connector 2, 8-pin, for voltage supply lines and CAN bus

9 –  CAN bus, high
10 –  CAN bus, low
11 –  Display voltage supply, positive
12 –  Voltage supply, negative, terminal 31
13 –  Display HV CAN bus low
14 –  Display HV CAN bus high
15 –  Voltage supply, positive, terminal 30
16 –  Anti-theft coding control signal, SAFE, positive

Source.

12v onto terminals 15 and 16. Ground (negative) onto terminal 12.

I think I also tested that already but need to check again. Thanks!

Terminal 16 isn't really necessary for testing purposes, just something which I always do.

Is Bolero same as Columbus on powering point of view? That Bolero is working ok on car but not on desk with 12 & 15 connected (nor with 16). It does go through all CD's when first time powered but nothing on screen. It consumes something like 50mA when power button is pushed but drop almost zero after that. Near 1A when disk is changed.

I had Audi Symphony II+ and it functions similarly until I connected some pin to 12V or GND. Just can't recall what it was.

My Bolero is just the same as the Columbus when I bench test them with the power settings I mentioned.

Good to know, thanks. Must be something wrong with bench wiring harness then.
