Is Smartlink compatible with a separate (hand held type) Sat Nav

Featured Replies

Am about to get a new Fabia iii - which does not have an inbuilt SatNav -

But I do have a separate SatNav (tomtom)- but not at all clear whether this will connect with the Smartlink and display the maps and the audio instructions on the Bolero ICE.

Any advice gratefully received by this non-tech dumbo.

I also have a new Tom Tom but cannot see how it would "talk" to the infotainment system.  I have mine mounted, (when needed), on a Brodit clip over the centre vents on the dashboard....no sticky rings on the screen.  When not in use it lives in the cubby hole under the driver's seat.  Would be interested to hear if it will connect to the Bolero...but.

Smartlink will ok link phones. (Certain phones check the website for a list)

Apple car play will only use Apple Maps.

Android auto allows good maps not sure on 3rd party apps

No it doesn't connect to sat nav units, only mobiles phones with Android auto or Apple car play abilities using the Smartlink functionality.

Nice idea though, i can see how you thought it may...
