My Pioneer clicks back!

Featured Replies

Whilst retro-fitting my fascia panel this afternoon (read into that "Fitted head unit ages ago but couldn't find fascia, but stumbled across it at lunchtime ;)") I had a bit of a novel idea for trying to get my head unit finally pushed back until it clicked in place,

All this time the huge bundle of wiring has meant the thing always stuck out about an inch, which was a) unsightly, and B) meant my cupholder was pointless. :o

So I had a little fiddle around the side of it (no misquoting! :D), couldn't get my hand through to the back, and then noticed the centre air vent. ;) Unclipped that out, and noticed I could reach all the wiring (more or less) from there. So as I gently fed in the head unit (after fascia retrofit :D) I had my other hand in the vent gap, gently teasing up bits of wiring/RCA feeds, etc up ABOVE the head unit - something that won't happen if you just shove the thing in.

Result? My head unit is now flush with the rest of the dash!:thumbup: A worthwhile tip I feel if you also can't get your radio back due to copious amounts of wiring. :D

Oh, and I also got ALL my trim in this afternoon too, and washed the car. Such a glorious day today down in Devon, I just couldn't go back inside.
