Does anyone know anywhere that makes a fibreglass tailgate for the Felicia?

I've searched and searched but can't find one. Did find fibreglass doors though suprisingly!

I doubt anyone manufactures fiberglass tailgates. I would have heard about it. But if I've missed this information and if there is some obscure foreign company that fabricates them and you don't have to mortgage the house to pay the shipping, that would be great news for many Felicia owners. It is well known that the tailgate is a weak spot. And the rear wheel arches. And the wings. And the sills.

Yeah i wasn't really expecting to find one but would be nice!

Although my car is in good condition i'm tempted to get the WRC kit in fibreglass so that would be front wings and rear arches sorted, my sills are ok at the moment.

In malta fiberglass tailgate are available, its very expensive like 400 euro new

No i just know because when i had to replace my virtually destroyed with rust one i went to a local shop and they told me a metal one is 500 euros new and 400 euros for a fiberglass one. I ended up buying a used one for 100 euros

Intrigued by the subject, I've searched again using the Czech word for fiberglass (laminát) and I've found a Slovakian website that has it. You'll see that the price for a fiberglass tailgate without shipping is 165 Euro + VAT while the price for a metallic tailgate is 158 Euro + VAT. Just by looking at photo, the fiberglass tailgate is far from an exact copy of the stock tailgate. Best case scenario could be used on rally cars. It looks quite flimsy and due to its low weight it needs weaker struts.

nu99et18  I worked in GRP for some 40 years now retired and strengthening and reinforcing a moulding is not a problem (well not for me) if you have the right materials. Making the moulding is the big job you have to make a mould master first then take a moulding out of the mould master.
