Heloo from a soon-to-be Skoda owner.

Featured Replies

Hello everyone.

My name is Paul (Edward is a middle name I use on a number of forums: I stick with it for consistency). I'm a 40-odd year old Pharmacist in the Civil service, married with two kids and a springer spaniel.

We've just taken the plunge and ordered a Skoda to replace my wife's 17 year old 3 door Astra which we've had from 6 months old. Its been a good friend but the kids are 6 and 9 now and getting too big to climb in and out, and the arrival of the aforementioned Springer spaniel has been the final nail in the old girls coffin.

So, more interesting to you chaps is what we've ordered! Its a new Yeti 1.2Tsi SE L manual, in the standand navy blue colour, with the net divider and DAB radio. We are  'dog/child-ifying' it with rubber mats, boot liner and rear boot lip protector.

To say we are mildly excited would be an understatement, its the first car we've bought since 2004 and the first totally new car we've ever bought.

The other vehicle in our family is my old faithful 2.0T petrol Vectra Sri estate, which we are hanging on to until next year. That's another reason I am here, as I am hoping to replace it with a Superb estate when the time comes. I've had a drive of our local dealers demo 2.0T 4x4 L&K and like it very much... but I guess I probably should! realistically I might be looking at a 220 sportline myself.

Anyway, thanks for your time, and when the new Yeti turns up I'm sure I'll have loads of questions....

Paul

Hi Paul , that's a good step up from the Astra to a Yeti , I'm sure you'll love it . And you never know , you could become a two-Yeti family  :sun:

I suspect we'll become a 2 Skoda family for sure, but we really need a bigger car for trips away as getting 4 bikes, dog, diving kit and bodyboarding stuff in completely fills my current Vectra estate! I also have access to my parents touring caravan and it would need something a bit more than a Yeti to tow it safely. The Superb is probably what we will go for.

In fact we went into the dealership initially last year to look at the then new Suberb and it was a passing comment from my wife that she liked the look of the Yeti that started us off down that route!
