Does anyone knows if the 1.4 MPI 8V AQW engine from Skoda Fabia 1 gen fits without any modifications in place of the 1.3 MPI engine?

Specifically I'm talking about the engine block and its internal components, the engine head with valves, and the left side with the water pump and alternator.

Additionaly will the 1.3 MPI exhaust and intake will fit the 1.4 MPI engine head? And what about the fule injectors compatibility?

 

I guess if it was a really Plug & Play swap without any custom parts than it would make sense if the 1.3 engine required a remake anyway as that would cost a considerable amount of money, and you can find newer 1.4 MPI engines on the market than the 1.3 ones. Besides the 1.4 had significantly higher compression ratio and better torque, so additionally it would be a bit of an upgrade.

Head is the same as the 1.3 so manifold will fit. I think there is an issue with the alignment if the 1.3 waterpump with the 1.4 crank pulley but that may be easy enough to sort. Flywheel has more bolts tho so fitting the Felicia flywheel may require a bit of engineering (fabia has different timing tooth setup) bellhousing is the same so the Felicia Box will bolt on.

1.4 block is much stronger and a nicer design if aiming for more power
