Nissan duke 2016.

Featured Replies

ok... so this week I have spent in a diesel Nissan duke....

never been in one before, don't really come into contact with nissans.... don't mind the look of the duke (although I know a lot of people hate the look).....

right... firstly I don't like the key-less system.... you can't put the ignition on, this creates issues that i wont go into here under certain circumstances,,,, but hey we will live with this, tech moves on. still don't like it though

inside. I don't like it. seats are hard. uncomfortable, I can't get the back right, makes my back hurt between the shoulder blades... materials seem cheap, don't like the buttons that only show what they are when you turn the engine on, don't like the stop start, simply doesn't work properly... (why the **** turn its sekf off for 2 seconds, then turn itself back on?! if you don't have store energy to turn off, don't bloody turn off! constant stop starting in town was annoying, loud, intrusive, and pointless.... If I had to own the car, i would turn this feature OFF., or the ECO display telling you how to be more economic (when I KNOW the duke is one of the worst cars for being so far off manufacturers mpg claims its just not funny, a collegue had one (deisel like ours) that he only made 30mpg in.... I can get that in my mark one octy vRS...

engine.. noisy. rattly diesel, sound like old style, not a new car. wasn't even a nice noise.... just nasty...

the worst part? the suspension.... hell i couldn't live with this car, it was awful!!!!

at slow speed on ANY of our roads here it would jiggle about like there was no damping at ALL and the springs were harder than the modified springs in our abarth!!!!! hated it, uncomfortable and rock hard.... nearly smacked my head on the window several times due the being jiggled about so much.... awful awful slow speed ride....

now normally if a car is set up like that, its a trade off and it improves at speed....... no. the duke wasn't better at speed, if anything it was worse.... felt bad... still rock hard, still no damping (The Abarth improves massively at speed, and with bigger bumps) bigger bumps in the duke were terrible.... like going through with no suspension at all...... no body control, no comfort.... just felt bad.

Hated it.

come to think of it, if I had presence of mind I would have looked to see if the traveling blocks were still i the suspension and the hire company (or nissan at PDI) forgot to remove them!!! because thats what felt like it was.....

I hated being in the car all week.... can't think of anything nice to say about it.

just my opinion if I have offended any Duke owners ;) (and my polybushed mk1 octavia vRS (15 years old 172,000 mile) rides about ten time better, handles about 20 times better, and is about 200 times more composed on the road......)

Think you mean Juke, Dave must of really hated it if you can't spell it right :D  :D

you know what though Andy, you are ABSOLUTELY right with that comment! I really didn't know or care that I got that wrong, I want it gone from my memory as soon as possible, so I never have to thing about its failure in all areas of being a car, ever again! lol...

All that without mentioning how utterly hideous it is too.

I've friends with a Juke and they love it :peek:

I'd rather drive a vauxhall.

The is the same (otger than shape) as a captur. My boss had one as a temp while fleet was being exchanged. He hated it. It was pathetic on space. He used to have a gen2 laguna (yup...) before he got a fleet vehicle, and the keyless thing drove him mad along with a few other things. Space was the biggest gripe though they are pointless..

I hate the f'ing dip beam lights - the height is just right to pi$$ you off whether they are coming towards you or following..
