OBDeleven opinions?

Featured Replies

What do you think of this piece of equipment? Is it a valid alternative to VCDS regarding code tweaking?

That is strange, second posting I've spotted today on this topic, one thing, they do not yet provide an iPhone version of this app!!

Sorry, because I am an iPhone person, I can not comment on how useful it is, but from what I've read from an Australian VW Polo 6C owner, it does seem to be a lot easier to use than VCDS, though how well sorted out the "one click" changes selector is I can't say - if it works for the latest Polo it should work for latest Fabia, I'd think.

Have you dismissed Carista for tweaking, or does it not have enough possible changes listed yet?

Edit:- maybe have a look on UK-POLOS.NET for that posting as it has some youtube video clips.

Well I've read negative reviews of it and it lacks long coding which is a no-no for me. Oh and I forgot the subscription you have to pay in order to tweak things different than doors.

I myself use an iPhone so I guess I'll have to get a cheap Android device...

Anyway am I correct if I say long coding is exactly the same thing on VCDS and OBDeleven, If I know what does that particular module/byte/bit codifies?

Have you looked on that UK-POLOS.NET forum yet, I think if you take a look at the video clips you should see that it appears to be like VCDS but dumbed down, so just "topics" or individual controller's regularly asked for options and then maybe just a "tick" to enable that option, as opposed to VCDS's look at controller "X" Byte YY, change BIT ZZ to ab etc - okay, VCDS has help files to explain things to stop you (hopefully) making a complete mess of things.

Maybe the choice between VCDS and OBDeleven boils down to "what do you want to do as well as making a few changes?"

Edit:- maybe a better way to look at things is, VCDS is a workshop scan tool that allows you to make changes, some of which are now called "customisation", I have not looked very closely at OBDeleven, but I get the idea that it is a scan tool that has menus for "customisation" which dumbs things down a bit - just like Carista does, but I might just be under estimating what basic functions it can perform.
