Electrical problems

Featured Replies

I have had a series of electrical problems with my 2015 Mark111 Fabia tsi. The first problem was in April when the engine died and some of the electrics were inoperative. The AA puzzled over it but managed to get the car started after disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. The dealer couldn't find the problem apparently because disconnecting the battery had erased any error codes. A few months later the central dashboard information panel failed and a part - I'm not sure what - was replaced. This corrected that fault and I assumed that this had solved the problems. However today a warning light came on (orange triangle and exclamation mark) with intermittent warning lights for bulb failure (I've checked and there are no failed bulbs) and what I have discovered is the brake assist warning light (symbol showing the silhouette of two cars and an exclamation mark). These two lights appear for only a few seconds but the triangle one stays on until the ignition is switched off. When the engine is restarted it seems fine but after some time the whole thing happens again. I have booked the car in after the holidays. I am concerned that there is some underlying fault that the dealer has not yet identified and I wonder if anyone else has had similar experiences or has any ideas.

Without doubt there is an underlying problem unresolved.

Why have you not a courtesy car now and your car left to have this possible serious safety issue resolved?

If the Dealership are too busy have Skoda UK Customer Services arrange collection and repair and a Courtesy car.

I do recon that behavior which occured in my Fab as well.

For my life I cannot remember what was wrong but the dealer/garage did swop some electronic gadget on the guarantee.

Not much of a help, I know. Be back if my mind will serve me subsequently.... :-/
