VRS voice control woes

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

After a bit of advice.

My car has been into the garage for almost 2 weeks now over 3 visits.

Voice control worked fine for a number of months, 4 months'ish ago it stopped working when trying to use my mobile and only my mobile, appears to function ok for everything else.

I click the voice control button

Say "Call Joe Bloggs"

Car repeats, "do you want to call Joe Blogs" then I immediately get the spoken message

"An error has occurred, please restart voice control"

I have reset it, the local Skoda garage have been great, changing bits and going back and forth with Skoda technical, issue has still not been resolved.

Tried both my phones, the garage techs have tried their phones, just the same.

I believe the head unit brain has been changed, updated etc etc.

Not sure where to go from here as there appears to be no prospect of a fix, thoughts?

Android or ios or both?

One m8 is on the latest version android, galaxy a3 slightly older android, techs had iphones so covered most bases.

Just packed in one day, nothing changed, worked with both my phones fine for about a year

Would this be better in the ask a Tech section?
