VW BEVs threaten massive auto job losses

Featured Replies

Also consider the knock on effect at garages. Servicing will probably go out to longer intervals as oil changes and filters won't be required, no gearboxes to worry about. Less technicians required in the future?

Absolutely

The dealerships will have to be dragged kicking and screaming to push BEVs .

Funnily not Nissan, Toyota or Honda in the UK.

They build the cars and sell them and provide Service & Maintenance, while the VW Group keeps speaking about what they will do.

The 30,000 VW Job cuts were announced weeks ago, how long does news take to get to Australia for journalists to re-write others stories?

It was an American news story with a bit more to it than a rehash

The VW Group Media team and New Publicity Company they hired must be sitting looking at Project Vehicles and talking with engineers and asking what News Release can we get out there, a rehashed idea using parts we have and can get to Motor Shows and some limited sales Hot Cars to deflect from the scandal ongoing and talking about something that is years away with our EV's.

They are still looking for Fixes in Software for Hybrid & EV's already sold.

It's primarily about BEVs not confined to VW's plans.

What happens in the world of auto manufacturing is fundamentally dictated by American (particularly Californian) legislation as there aren't many manufacturers that can afford not to sell there.

looks like there will come a time when they will be glad to change the pollen filter to add to the few routine jobs left to do     wonder if we can have a power cable flush to help the sparks flow faster ;)
