Connect2

Featured Replies

I have recently bought my fabia vrs and it had an aux cable sticking out the tray underneath the cd player and I tried and tried to get it to work but it wouldn't budge , so took cd player out and it looks like it wasn't wired in properly as the black cable from the connect2 was wrapped around the Ariel connect , can someone help me out or give me pictures of how theirs in wired in ?

The loose black wire is the earth. Without it, the aux input might work but you'll pick up a whine from the alternator (rises and falls with the revs). I taped mine to the bare metal back of the head unit at first but it fell off so I soldered it. No more whine.

The rest of the connection is a pretty foolproof push fit arrangement.

If you don't have the Connects2 instruction manual, hopefully you're aware of how to actually select the aux input? Press 'CD' then the '1' button. The Connects2 fools the head unit into thinking it has a CD autochanger fitted then feeds it the aux audio instead.

Thank you very much for info , I will try this later and wire it all back together as I just removed it in the mean time until I figured it out , cjc46 I will try tapeing it to the back of headunit and see if it works , I don't have a manual so you've helped me with what buttons to push to get it on , if it doesn't work then I guess the connect2 might be goosed and I'll need to order a new one
