Anyone colour coded the chrome grille on a red Vrs facelift?

Featured Replies

Looking to see pictures of a red facelift Vrs with colour coded grille instead of the chrome, have saw a few pics of  a blue Vrs and looks 100 times better so assume the my red Vrs would too but would really like to see before doing it. Also how easy is it to seperate the chrome and the black parts of the grille?

There's a red one in the project threads.

Also so in my thread it shows you how to prise apart the grill. Fiddly but easy enough

Check out my build thread in the project section mate, I've done it & it definitely looks better than the chrome surround.

Excellent just what I was wanting cheers, yeah looks so much better in the red I wonder why it didn't leave the factory like that, that's definitely on the to do list!

No but I've had my grey limited edition Vrs done a million times better.

it no longer looks cheap and blingey , looks a lot more sporty.

Whatever the colour of the car id say its a big improvement , maybe not so much for silver cars

but any other colour its a must , as is new Skoda badges on grill and tailgate.

I've also done it .

By far the best visual mod.

Also change the grill badge to a new style one too.

how do you paint the crome?? ive always thought that you couldent?

any suggestions

It was done at a bodyshop , it has to be primed with a special base layer so I'm told

it cost me £100 so wasn't cheap but still worth it , you also need to replace the front badge

once removed I doubt the old badge would look right hence I got a matching pair of newer type badges

at a cost of £47 ouch but again worth every penny.

I'm just about to do this aswell

just waiting for the grill surround to turn up and then off to get it painted ! I'll post pics when it's done before and after !

did it myself. key it, prime it, spray it & lacquer it. did it over 3 evenings to ensure correct drying times.

The car looks so much better, I keep thinking to myself how can spraying that one little bit make such a huge difference. But it does!
