Can anyone tell me whether when you update the maps with a  new map disc from Skoda does it come with updated poi.

on my current maps I have installed my own personal poi but there are already quite a few pre installed. Just wondering when I update the new maps if I will lose pre loaded ones.

A simple map software update does not affect any other files on a Columbus so you are safe to go ahead.

Some firmware updates will delete saved personal files though.

 

If you update the maps, then the preloaded POI are deleted as they're a component part of the maps disc and data. However, the new maps will then install new (more up to date) POI which will replace the ones you lost.

Personal Poi will remain unaffected.
