Brake light switch on pre fl mk2. HELP!

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Went to replace the brake light switch today thinking that it would be on the pedal.

I soon realised that it was actually on the master cylinder.

I can't seem to find the correct switch. Everywhere I have tried only gives me the pedal type switch,

Has anyone got a part number that might help?

Cheers,

Jay

The part number from a 2006 1.9 PD105 with ATE master cylinder is:

1K0 945 459 A

Being magnetic I would suspect wiring/connection issues before condemning the switch/sensor.

(Un)plug the connection a few times, scoosh some WD-40 in the plug and retry.

Thanks for the replies guys.

It's definitely the one that Lyminton posted.

I suspected it might be a wiring problem, but after doing some research it seems that they do tend to go wrong.

only £20 from my local motor factor so ill fit it tomorrow and see how it goes.

Thanks for the help.

Jay.
