3rd brake light warning after closing boot

Featured Replies

Got to the car after work, put my lunch bag in the side boot compartment, I've adjusted the stoppers to max to try and unsuccessfully treat the bootlid vibration issue.

So I had to slam it a bit to get it closed.

Then I went to start the car up and it says 3rd brake light warning, yet it was dark enough that I could see the high level brake light was illuminated.

Gave my colleague a lift home and got him to check when he got out, said all brake lights fine.

Restarted the car and no warnings.

Bad connection?

The Saab used to have phantom brake light warnings caused by corroded bulb holders, but for a 3rd brake light surely this wouldn't be the case? It has been very rainy recently.

My first O3 used to tell me that my passenger side day runner was out, when I checked it was fine. Would restart the car an no error for a few months.

mentioned it at service but they couldn't find anything wrong.
