Internal noise codes

Featured Replies

So i got my 190 manual superb, all ok but it seemed to me a little noisy mainly from the tires. Soon enough i have discovered that some there are two codes 3w6 and 2b1 which are translated into additional sound insulation and aditional sound supression dont remember which is which... so i started to look for these codes but i couldn't find them written in the manual or in the trunk so i asked myself what are does codes (only some cars get them or how does it work ?...) i asked than the dealer and he said commercialy speaking there is no way of ordering these codes as "optional gear" so the mistery going deeper :) ... than he went to the service guys and they looked up my VIN in their internal Skoda IT tool and guess what on my VIN they say that i have these two codes... now my question: is there any way of verifying this without a trip to the dealer and looking by myself in the system and second somehow related... is there a way to get all internal codes for my car from somwhere/some source ?

thx

IMHO should be on a separate sheet given to you at the time of delivery...

You have 3w3 not 3w6 ? How did you obtain these codes or better question from where do you have them ? And how do you know what they mean ? A friend told me to look here http://igorweb.org/equidec.aspx. And yea you are right for the meaning of 3w3 but then what can it represent in the real world since you cannot order these "optionals" from a commercial point of view? How do you get one or the other...?  i am guessing these codes appear if ordered something special: if you would be so kind to tell what optional gear did you bought that can lead to having these codes ? (For example seems i have 2b1 and 3w6 didnt check for 3w3 because i didn't know until now, but i will :) )

i agree csory they should have been there but the dealer doesnt have anymore the delivery sheet, anyone know where i can get it ? Or where to ask for it ?

2B1 = Additional exterior noise suppression
3W3 = Special interior noise suppression
3W6 = Additional interior noise suppression

dealer confirmed i have 2B1, what with others not asked yet,
but also after full interior sound deadening(1k€) i have too much road noise and rattles from DSG and front part

I got the codes from a contact who has access to ETOS - Enter the vin number and it produces a full list of the spec of the car..

Attached i have added a copy of my PR code report (excluded the vin, order etc off the doc)

I would even call into the dealer and ask them to print you a copy of the PR codes, you just need to give them your VIN.

Thanks

Your car is 'without bracket'  You had best get that checked.  Every car needs a bracket!  :D

as per the doc - 12th Feb 2016

A few embers on here have access to the system - maybe worth a post in the main chat section ?

My 2015 S3 Sedan L&K has the 2B1 and 3W3, the 2017 S3 Sportline Estate 2B1 and 3W6. Maybe ist just the Sedan / Estate difference?

Could be but from the "translation" seems something different, i mean with one code you may have something in plus than the other... it would be interesting to find out what those codes mean in real life ?

2B1 - Additional exterior noise suppression  = Hood noise dampening panel  - its the damping panel on the underside of the bonnet.   - but then i would think 3W8 would be this...

3W3 - Special interior noise suppression = Not sure as yet- this is part of the GDM group of parts regarding sound proofing... im wondering if its the fabric lined door card pockets.

3W0 GDM Without additional noise suppression measures for passenger compartment
3W1 GDM Soundproofing door lining for noise suppression, passenger compartment
3W2 GDM Soundproofing door lining and additionalnoise suppression measures, passenger compartment
3W3 GDM Special interior noise suppression
3W4 GDM Acoustics package "Standard"
3W5 GDM Special noise suppression measure for passenger compartment, without deadener for enclosure
3W6 GDM Additional interior noise suppression
3W7 GDM Acoustics package "Extra"
3W8 GDM Acoustics package for diesel

2B0 GRD Without additional exterior noise suppression
2B1 GRD Additional exterior noise suppression
2B2 GRD Additional exterior noise suppression
2B3 GRD Additional exterior noise suppression (hood, capsule and dash panel)
2B4 GRD Additional exterior noise suppression (hood and dash panel)
2B5 GRD Additional exterior noise suppression
2B6 GRD Additional exterior noise suppression
2B7 GRD Additional exterior noise suppression
2B8 GRD Additional exterior noise suppression
