Has anyone done this?

 

the eBay kit I purchased is not close enough of a match. It'd look awful if I fitted them as they are. 

 

The instructions say you can thinly paint them. How thin is thin?

Just a couple of passes of a 'fine mist' with a rattle can & lacquer should do it.

 

Thanks mate. Can anyone recommend a good supplier for race blue?

Paints4U online are very good, but realistically, even a Halfords can should do the job as long as it's an 'off the shelf' colour. The stuff they custom mix tends to come in a crappy can.
