Today my VAG flip key decided to break where the key blade goes into the rotating bit. 

 

Have found that end of the key on ebay, but wondered if the transponder is in that part or the remote end? 

 

If the former I'll just separate the new one and swap the broken blade holder and key blade over. 

the transponder is glued in place in a small glass bead. Bear with, I'll try n find the pic I have.

 

 

IF you need to remove the immo chip, plenty of nail varnis remover, delicacy an patience. Easily broken.

If I'd taken it apart I'd probably just swap the metal part to the right of that over.
