led number plate bulbs

Featured Replies

hi again i have just put in some led with load resistors built in for rear my number plate will i have any problems with these affecting the bcm as i am new to this car and reading a couple of posts about led and hids affecting the bcm on the main head lights does this come in to affect on all the bulbs around the car thanks kev

I just fitted 5 quid 'Canbus Friendly' led licence plate bulbs to my 2010 Octy vrs. No sign of any problems so far

I fitted some led bulbs a few months ago in the reg plate holders but to be honest I've now taken them out. The right hand side bulb was flickering for no reason. Tried a few different bulbs but still the same. Not sure what was going on. I've also changed all interior bulbs to led with no problems. Side lights also fine. Mine is a pre F/L though. As for the bcm issue i thought the only problem there was with owners of FL Octavias fitting the hid kits. The ballasts being the problem. I'm certain led lights are fine.

Octavia MkII FL vRS does not have front sidelights - the bulbs are fitted to fill the holes but not connected.  You can clearly see this on the back of the headlamp units.  The sidelight function is provided by reduced brightness on the LED DRLs.

Ok thanks for that I wonder if the dash light is on because of the led bulbs in the number plate they are suppose to b error free

Sod's law after my previous reply. I have had the led bulbs I fitted from eBay for a few days and they have just started throwing up the dash board light for defective bulb. Time to look for some others. I wonder if the super Skoda units will be better. Anybody had them from super Skoda and do they need any coding?

Thanks Mike great help
