Newbie octavia ordered

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Just placed order yesterday for new Octavia, 2 litre diesel, 150bhp dsg. Added sportline pack which gives privacy glass, hawk alloys, dynamic sports seats, bi xenon directional headlights. Rear boot lip spoiler and few other touches. Mats, steel pedals, footwell lights, door sill protectors and boot liner included. Had similar car on demo for two days and really liked it. It wasn't a dsg but drove friends dsg superb and liked it. Current car is 2014 Honda civic tourer in diesel. Looking forward to getting the octavia. Late may delivery. Went for silver metallic. The Irish style spec comes with the new columbus touch screen unit which is very nice. My current car has leather but I liked the sports seats in the octavia so went for them. I also have asked dealer to put Michelin CrossClimate plus tyres on the car. Only thing I might add to car is a subwoofer but I'll wait till I've lived with it a while first.

Cheers,

Mick

Welcome Mick!  Great spec!  Would you hold on for a 172 reg if its so close to July?

Thanks, I might do but dealer is keen to get my car in as it's closing in on 80k km. Depends on when it arrives at dealers.. We said we'd chat once we get closer to time.. Waiting is a killer. Wish I had it now

Yeah the waiting is hard alright especially as time draws closer.  Lead times are still hit and miss.  My wife ordered a new Octavia (old model as she was under pressure to change and couldn't wait for new one) last week of November and didn't arrive until towards end of February.  Not sure about the facelift model.  You could try and arrange a loan car from them if they are that keen and you wanted a 172.

Yep might look at that or might use my wifes car a bit more. She doesn't drive it much and I could probably use it for my commute to work a bit more often. Its a smaller car though (Honda jazz) so I wont get much respect on the m50... any time I've brought it to work before I've definitely noticed a lot more get out of my way type behavior from other drivers, the other slight complication is we are sailing to France 2nd of July. That doesn't leave much time to get the car and have the registration/ownership cert which I believe you need to carry with you while driving in France? I haven't seen any of the facelift models on the roads so im assuming they are going to take at least 8 weeks.

Welcome (seen you around on AV forums :-) )
