Although I run a Roomster, I thought I'd post here as the Roomster is identical to the Fabia front end.

Briefly, after a short run, I turned off and withdrew the ignition key and the engine kept running. It would not turn stop until I turned off the sidelights. I did it a few more times as I could hardly believe it. So now I can only stop the engine if I turn off the sides. Everything else is normal, Any ideas please?

Could be that your battery is on the out so when you turn the car off the engine needs to keep running to power the lights... but sounds weird typing it so maybe not
