Music streaming

Featured Replies

Do any of you guys use a subscription based streaming app?

I'm looking for a good app to use with my android phone with a good selection of artists and tracks.

Currently I'm using a mates Spotify but really need to sign up for my own, Is Spotify one of the best out there?

Has anybody used the Amazon version?

I use the one bundled with Amazon Prime.

I find it decent as an add on. I also use the slow postage bonus to buy MP3s (Amazon Prime gives you free next day delivery but if you opt for the basic 3-5 day they give you a £1 credit for digital music or video). I've bought quite a few tracks with that now and not spent any real money.

Has a decent selection and even some new stuff. You do find tracks disappearing at random but the video is the same and it's just something you have to live with.

Can't speak for any other service.

Tidal is the best if you want quality and exclusive content but also the most expensive. I've had a free 3 month subscription and listening to new music and even my old tracks with such clarity makes it head and shoulders above the competition but, a very big but is you need some good audio equipment to hear it on to get that benefit.

I've had Spotify with my Vodafone contract which was pretty good but the quality was hit and miss. I think they've improved since then and also have a premium subscription too.

Also had a trial of Apple Music which I hated and I normally like Apple products. I don't even know what I really disliked about it.

What I don't like about Amazon Music is that it doesn't have any equalizer built in and changing the Apple Music equalizer has no effect.

I swap between earphones and headphones and I like to tweak the equalizer for both. A minor irritation.

Amazon Music Unlimited is £10 a month (or £9 if you already have Prime) which is more than I'd pay.
